Vanity Fair’s list of most influential people

Vanity Fair magazine recently released its latest list of the 50 most influential people of 2012. Apple’s CEO Tim Cook tops the list while Terry Gou, the chairman of Hon Hai Group, becomes the only Asian who makes it into the list this year.

Facebook’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg, the champion of last year, dropped to fourth. It is worthy to note that the people who take up the top 10 rankings all come from the technology industry.

Google’s co-founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin takes second place; Amazon’s CEO Jeff Bezos ranks third while Twitter’s co-founder Jack Dorsey ranks fifth.

Marissa Mayer, the new CEO of Yahoo, takes seventh place. At 37, the former long-time executive for Google is also the youngest CEO of a Fortune 500 company.

British singer Adele, 24, is the highest ranked entertainer at 11th place, ahead of U.S. pop sensation Lady Gaga who takes 16th place.

The top 35 most influential people in 2012 judged by “Vanity Fair” are as follows:
